New Champion: Jacaerys Velaryon

Jacaerys Velaryon rides in on the back of his dragon to press his mother’s–and by extension his–claim to the Iron Throne. Read on to learn more about this new Legendary Champion, and play now to test out this Champion’s might!

Jacaerys Velaryon

Rarity: Legendary

Faction: Blacks

Class: Elite Fighter

Gem Color: Blue

Jacaerys Velaryon is made for building FURY up for his team, and empowering himself and his team to do maximum damage. He hits hard with his increased Critical Strike Chance and Critical Damage every time he gains FURY. Once ENRAGED, he can prevent his enemies from STEALTHING with his Passive ability, “I Will Fight”, and can prevent TAUNT, to direct his damage to any enemy he chooses. His Leader ability is also crucial for building FURY quickly at the outset of battle.

Skill

Dragons Are More Convincing – Jacaerys gains 1 FURY, grants all team members an increased Critical Strike Chance, then deals a blast of Fire Damage to a single enemy.

Passive

I Will Fight – When Jacaerys gains FURY, he gains Critical Damage for some turns. When he becomes ENRAGED, enemies are prevented from TAUNT and STEALTH for some turns.

Leader

Blood Of The Dragon – At the start of battle, Jacaerys and his allies have a chance to gain FURY. At higher levels, each time a team member gains FURY, they also gain an increased Critical Strike Chance for some turns.

Champion Strategy

Jacaerys will be a great addition to the Blacks teams looking to do some serious single-target damage. He’s a fighter with a sizable attack, but provides critical support to his allies. Use him as an additional FURY generator, but also take advantage of his Crit buffs for his other attacking allies like Rhaenyra Targaryen (The Black Queen) and Rhaenys Targaryen. Focus on getting him ENRAGED as quickly as possible if you want to be able to direct your firepower at specific enemies.

Synergies

Three Champions:

Rhaenyra Targaryen (The Black Queen) – This pair can generate quite a bit of FURY for your team, and will both benefit from Jacaerys’s Crit buffs. Choose which Leader ability works best for your playstyle - More Crit (Jacaerys) or more Stamina (Rhaenyra)?
Laenor Velaryon – Laenor and Jacaerys make a great hybrid support pair for your Blacks or Greyjoy team. Your team will be Dodging, preventing enemies from TAUNT and STEALTH, all while bashing RAIDED enemies with high Crit attacks.
Corlys Velaryon - Get Jacaerys and Corlys charged up at the same time, then use Jacaerys to add FURY, buff Crit, then use Corlys and benefit from going second - he’ll have a Crit buffed attack and RAID the enemy. Having Jacaerys alongside Corlys will get Corlys ENRAGED and healed quicker too.
Viserys Targaryen III - As an AoE damage dealer, Viserys will always benefit from Jacaerys's Crit buffs and the extra Stamina gain FURY provides. The right mix of Blacks and Targaryens will result in some serious late-game damage.
