Enter the Joust: Tourney at Ashford Meadow Event

Greetings House Leaders,

The lists are open, the knights are gathered, and the Tourney for wealth and glory has begun! Read on to learn more about this new event, and join the battle now!

Tourney at Ashford Meadow

Monday, February 9, at 1 p.m. ET – Sunday, February 15, at 1 p.m. ET

In the upcoming Tourney at Ashford Meadow mini-game event, enter the list to face off against rival knights in a joust. Choose one of three virtues to leverage against your opponents--Speed, Power, or Aim--and compete against the rival knight's own chosen virtue. Once the joust begins, you will either win and proceed to the next joust and greater rewards, or lose everything you’ve won thus far. Each decision is high-risk, high-reward —after each round, you can decide whether to continue pursuing greater glory or walk away with your winnings.

Choose Your Opponent

Enter the Tourney with Entry Writs, special permission to allow a Knight such as yourself to participate in the joust. You will receive 3 Entry Writs per day for free, and can also spend gold to purchase one refill of 3 Entry Writs per day. Once your Writ is spent, you will then choose your opponent from among six Knights of the kingdom, each with their own strengths and weaknesses:

Ser Alaric The Wolf's Bane

A grim veteran who earned his name slaying Northerners under the direwolf sigil. His temper is as sharp as his sword point.

Ser Ryam The Quiet

Few hear his voice; his focus is absolute, and his movements are silent and deadly. He lets the clean slice of his blade do the talking.

Ser Cassian Stoneheart

He watched his family burn without a tear. A cold, ruthless man known for his impenetrable defense and utter lack of mercy.

Ormund The Cautious

Famed for never taking risks, he outmaneuvers foes until their patience fails. His survival record proves his methodical strategy works.

Ser Trystane The Gilded

Never seen without ornate armor and fine silks. He takes pride in dispatching foes without getting a drop of blood on himself.

Ser Edwyn The Bear

Possessing immense strength and an explosive temper, he wields a great axe with brutal efficiency. Famed for charging forward like a terrifying beast and overwhelming his foes.

A Knight’s Virtue

Once you have chosen a worthy opponent, then it is time to solidify your strategy. Choose between three Virtues: Power, Aim, or Speed, which will determine how you ride during the Joust. Similarly, your opponent will choose their own Virtue to battle against yours, unbeknownst to you. Power beats Aim: While your opponent takes the time to zero in their lance, you crush them! Speed beats Power: You quickly dodge their slow, lumbering attack. Aim beats Speed: Nobody can escape a precisely aimed blow to the helm.

You will then joust against your opponent! If you prove victorious, you will advance to the next round and earn Spoils. Play and win in three rounds of the joust to win the ultimate prizes!

The Winner Takes All

Each victory in the Tourney will add to your Spoils, and to gain more rewards, you must proceed to the next round. A joust defeat results in losing the Tourney. Lose the Tourney, lose all Spoils. However, if you Bow Out to leave the Tourney early, all the Spoils you have earned thus far will be yours. For this event, Spoils include Ser Duncan the Tall Legendary Champion Shards, Silver, Gear, and other valuable prizes.

In addition to rewards from competing in the Tourney itself, each Joust counts towards a Total Joust counter, regardless of win or loss. By completing as many Jousts as possible, you can earn additional and more valuable rewards!

We wish you the best of luck in the bouts to come, House Leaders!
