New Champion: Ned Stark (Hand of the King)

Bound by honor and unwavering loyalty, Lord Eddard Stark left his home in the frozen North to serve as Hand of the King, reluctantly taking his place in the dangerous Game of Thrones. Read on to learn more about this new Legendary Champion, and play now to test out this Champion’s might!

New Champion

Ned Stark (Hand of The King)

Class: Court Strategist

Gem Color: Red

Ned Stark, as The Hand Of The King, is a new Strategist who enables those who apply ICE. He protects his allies by granting them LOYALTY, making them immune to POISON, SCOUT and DECEIVE at the cost of gaining the debuff himself for a short duration. His unique gem, Justice, is a powerful seeker gem that does additional damage and applies ICE, and while Ned is leader it can lead to large amounts of damage on BRITTLE enemies.

Skill

I Will Not Have Their Blood On My Hands – Ned grants a team member BLOCK and LOYALTY. He also spawns Justice gems. If Ned is selected, he also spawns additional Justice gems.

Trait

You Think My Life Is Precious To Me? – Whenever an enemy is afflicted with ICE, up to 4 times a turn, Ned HEALS himself for some percent of his ATK. If that ICE was applied by an ally with LOYALTY, that ally is also HEALED.

Leader

The King Called On Me To Serve – At the start of combat, Ned grants up to 2 random allies LOYALTY, 1 BLOCK and Stamina. He also spawns Justice Gems. When a Justice Gem hits a BRITTLE enemy, Ned strikes them for ATK Physical Damage.

Champion Strategy

Ned Stark, Hand of the King, is a strategist for the Starks who protects allies by granting LOYALTY. This protection costs him, but it makes loyal allies immune to powerful debuffs such as POISON, SCOUT, and DECEIVE. He heals LOYAL allies and applies ICE, helping them survive high-damage meta teams like Lannisters and Baratheons. He also spawns his own unique gem, JUSTICE, that deals bonus damage and applies ICE. Ned Stark, Hand of the King, is a strategist for the Starks who protects allies by granting LOYALTY. This protection costs him, but it makes loyal allies immune to powerful debuffs such as POISON, SCOUT, and DECEIVE. Synergies

Three Champions:

Brienne of Tarth (True Knight) – Her double strike hits a target and adjacent enemies, applying ICE across the line (up to 4 ICE in a single Skill). Mark her with LOYALTY and each of those applications becomes a heal for Brienne and Ned, turning her opening freeze into a sustain engine for the whole pack.
Jon Snow (King in the North) – Jon’s ICE spread, while Loyal, heals him and Ned on every application. Use Ned’s Justice gems on enemies Jon has already afflicted to stack ICE faster, push them to BRITTLE, and trigger Ned’s bonus damage.
Sansa Stark (Lady of Winterfell) – Her passive ICE and team sustain pair perfectly with Ned’s heals and LOYALTY protection. When enemies try to control the North, Sansa ices the source while Ned takes POISON, SCOUT, and DECEIVE in her place, making the Starks even harder to break.

PvP / Alliance Wars

Ned is a protective Champion who stacks sustain and ICE, then converts BRITTLE enemies into extra damage. He thrives in longer battles, once LOYALTY is on the right allies and Justice gems have room to do their work.

In Alliance Wars, look for Outposts that help apply ICE, protect your team from control effects, or generate extra gems so Ned’s Justice and healing can take over the fight.
