Summoning Update

Greetings House Leaders,

We’ve been listening closely to your feedback over the past few months, and one topic stands out more than most: Summons. Some key concerns we want to address are Champion availability (making sure players can always summon for most Champions), Summoning not feeling rewarding enough, Summoning feeling too expensive, and players expressing difficulty in building a variety of teams.

Today, we’re excited to share a major update that reshapes how Summons will work moving forward. Our goal is simple: make Summons more rewarding, more diverse, and more accessible for every player. In short, players will get more Legendary Shards and Champions will be more accessible!

Why We’re Making These Changes

Firstly, thank you to everyone who has been sharing feedback. A common theme we heard was that Summon Token prices felt too high - and we agree. We have been lowering prices recently, and now we’re making even more changes to bring more value for Summon Tokens.

We have also noticed that players are having a hard time building a diverse roster of teams which is becoming more important with game modes like War of the Three Banners and in more updates ahead. Part of the fun of Game of Thrones: Legends is building unique squads, mixing and matching abilities to find powerful synergies. To enhance that sense of creativity and experimentation, we have made the following changes to summons:

We’re expanding the Summoning Banners to have more Legendary Champions per banner, greatly increasing the number (and minimum) of Shards that drop per Legendary pull, and doubling the Summon Meter Shard rewards.

We know that increasing the number of Champions in a Summon Banner makes it more difficult to target specific Champions, which is why we’ve increased the Shard and Summon Meter amounts - so players can still make extra progress on the Champions they’re hunting for.

This Summon Banner change will also let players summon for any non-event Champions at any time making Champions much more accessible. No longer will a player need to wait weeks to pull for a Champion that they want.

What’s Changing in Summons

  • More Legendary Shards per pull. The legendary shards gained per pull have more than doubled and the minimum Legendary shards per pull has increased from 3 → 15 in Splendid Summons.

  • Summon Meter DOUBLED! Summon Meter rewards have doubled from 15 → 30 shards across most summons.

  • More Availability! All current Legendary Champions apart from Event Champions are always available to summon at all times improving availability for players.

Splendid Summons

Rather than running Weekly Summons, we will now permanently feature four Splendid Summon Banners, with more than double the Legendary Shards per pull. They are: The Crown, The Sword, The Throne, and The Seal. More details:

  • Minimum Legendary Shards per Summon have increased from 3 → 15.

  • New 30 and 45 Lucky Shard amounts have been added.

  • Summon Meter Legendary Shards have increased from 15 → 30.

The changes to Splendid Summons will be going out on September 8th, at 2PM ET.

Grand Token Summons

The rotating Grand Token Summons will be replaced with two permanently active Grand Summon Banners with 50% more Legendary Shards per pull, and will no longer be categorized by Champion color. More details:

  • Minimum Legendary Shards have increased from 3 → 5 and odds have been increased for 10 and 15 Shard pulls.

  • Increased Summon Meter Legendary Shards from 15 → 30.

  • Added more Legendary Champions that can be accessed from Grand Token Summons including Ygritte, Barristan Selmy, Petyr Baelish, Melisandre, Yoren, and Grey Worm.

Event Token Summons

Not much will change about Event Token Summons – they will still run slightly before and after their respective events, but will give 35% more Legendary Shards per pull. More details:

  • Minimum Legendary Shards have increased from 3 → 5.

  • Increased Summon Meter Legendary Shards from 15 → 30.

  • Catelyn Stark will join the Robb’s War Event Summon.

The Event Token Summon changes will be live for the upcoming Assault on Rook’s Rest Event on September 4th at 11AM ET and all events afterwards.

We'll be listening to your feedback and it will continue to guide us as we refine and expand the game.
